The WFEO Global Young Engineers Working Group on SDG13 (hosted by the WFEO Young Engineers/Future Leaders Committee), UNFCCC YOUNGO, UN MGCY Science-Policy Interface Platform, Global Youth Climate Network (Y2Y Community of the World Bank Group) and Members of the UN Secretary-General’s Youth Advisory Group on Climate Change bring together an unprecedented and powerful joint statement with clear overarching and priority climate policy recommendations.
Young people will be disproportionately impacted by climate change. Young people can also help deliver practical solutions which will meet the level of the challenge. The joint declaration aims to provide a united youth voice in contribution towards the outcomes of COP26 in the following areas: climate change mitigation, adaptation & resilience, and inclusive and meaningful youth involvement in policy making.
This joint statement (available here) will be issued to United Nations Heads of Member States, COP admitted NGOs and IGOs, calling for endorsement of this declaration.
Climate action and unity is critical to ensuring youth and future generations are able to thrive.
