The Federation of Engineering Institutions of Asia and the Pacific (FEIAP) will be organizing the 2024 International Engineering Congress (2024IEC) from 8 to 9 November 2024 in Taizhou, China.
Following the success of the FAEO-FEIAP-WFEO-UNESCO conference on Engineering Education and Capacity Building held in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe from 16 to 20 August 2022, FEIAP and the Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology (ZAST) wish to expand the event into the International Engineering Congress (IEC).
IEC2024 will focus on the theme “Engineering Innovation: Cooperation for Mutual Benefits”, with the following three main themes of:
- Sub-Theme 1: International Cooperation for Engineering Education of the Future
- Sub-Theme 2: International Cooperation for Emerging and Innovative Technologies: AI and Open Engineering for Future Engineers
- Sub-Theme 3: International Cooperation for Engineering Capacity Development and Mobility
The main objective of 2024IEC is to promote international cooperation in areas such as engineering education, emerging technologies, innovation, and the development and mobility of engineering professionals.
The congress aims to create an academic feast in the field of engineering. Leaders and representatives of engineering organizations from more than 40 countries and regions in Asia, Oceania, Africa and Latin America, as well as representatives from UNESCO, famous international scientific and technological organizations and international engineering organizations will attend the meeting. The congress will become a platform for global southern engineering organizations to forge common understanding for sustainable development, and a platform for global engineers to exchange ideas and learn from each other.
2024IEC will comprise presentations, forums, roundtable discussions providing a platform for notable speakers and experts to share experiences and best practices from various countries.
Norlida Buniyamin, the Chair of the WFEO Committee on Engineering for Innovative Technologies (CEIT), is invited as a Speaker for the Sub-Theme 2 topic “International Cooperation for Emerging & Innovative Technologies for Developing Economies” that will be held on 9 November 2024 at 10:00 am – 10:20 am (UTC+8).
