The WFEO Committee on Disaster Risk Management (CDRM) and the Peruvian Engineers Association (CIP) are organizing the webinar “Resilient cultural heritage to build capacity and reduce disaster risks” to be held on 2 February, at 3 PM in London and 4 PM in Paris.

Cultural heritage plays a double role in disaster risk management: it needs special protection due to its specific vulnerabilities in the face of disasters, and at the same time, provides resources to reduce risks, such as traditional knowledge and practices, and to engage communities in building capacity and increasing resilience. This talk will review the evolution of DRM of cultural heritage, from key concepts to good practices and lessons learned, through international programs and initiatives, including innovatives methodologies to engage communities and increase their capacity and resilience, in order to protect themselves and their heritage.
