The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) negotiation meetings took place in Bonn, Germany, from 8 to 18 May 2017.
At this occasion, Darrel Danyluk, leader of the Climate Change Adaptation theme for the WFEO Committee on Engineering and the Environment (WFEO-CEE), Past-President of Engineers Canada and Past-Chair of WFEO-CEE, represented WFEO with the support of David Lapp, leader of the Sustainable Practices for Engineers theme for WFEO-CEE and Practice Lead, Globilization and Sustainable Development at Engineers Canada.
Tuesday 16 May, Darrel Danyluk presented the side event entitled “Infrastructure Interdependencies, Climate Vulnerabilities: Engineering, Legal, Social” which focused on the principles behind, and lessons learned by implementing adaptation measures to improve climate resiliency of infrastructures and related services from the 2013 Calgary flood.
